Comment: There is no doubt in my mind that a legitimate criticism of criminal and/or illegal policies of Israel and antisemitism (discrimination based on race) are two separate and very different things (even though Israelis keep re-electing those criminal governments over and over).

Israel is the occupying power. How can the occupier invoke self-defense, if the occupation itself is an aggression? Palestinians are defending themselves.

Check the original Goldstone Report. Check the 100+ UN resolutions pertaining to the occupation, the right of the Palestinians to self-determination, the right of the refugees to return to their land, houses, and orchards, the repressions, military atrocities, economic blokade, check-points, the use of weapons illegal in densely populated civilian areas (white phosphorus and cluster bombs, depleted uranium munitions), the deliberate bombing of civilians, the illegal settlements and illegal annexation of Palestinian occupied territories that violate the IV Geneva Convention, the related demolitions, dispossessions and displacements, the legalized apartheid political system (The Basic Law Nation State), all of this committed by Israel with impunity – what else are the Palestinians supposed to do?

It is outrageous that western countries help the Ukrainians defend themselves and, at the same time, deny the Palestinians the same right to self-defense. Check the Geneva Conventions: occupied people have the right to defend themselves using military means. They have the right to fight against a military occupation and aggression. And now, add the obvious genocide to this picture, the deliberate ethnic cleansing aimed at establishing the Greater Israel. Thief’s and killer’s mentality. And lies. This conflict did not start in October 2023. It is decades old.

In addition, the term ‘antisemitism’ has no meaning in reference to the Middle East Conflict. According to Wikipedia,

“Semitic people or Semites is an obsolete term for an ethnic, cultural or racial group associated with people of the Middle East, including Arabs, Jews, Akkadians, and Phoenicians.” /…/

“Semitic describes a group of languages — including Hebrew and Arabic — as well as the people who traditionally speak them. Semitic is rooted in the Biblical name Shem, the son of Noah, who is traditionally thought of as the direct ancestor of the Jews and Arabs.”

Therefore, the term “Semitic” applies to both the Jews and Palestinians. You cannot be ‘antisemitic’ if you support the Palestinians.
