Comment: MAGA = Make America Great Again. Question: For whom? The new US Department of Government Efficiency sounds to me like our old and familiar Restructuring. We had it here in Canada, starting in mid-1990s, and the outcomes were not far behind: cuts to education, health care, social programs, and protection of natural resources. Reduction of government regulations. Privatization, monopolization of markets, end of competition and consumer protection. Unprecedented price gouging and inflation. Impoverishment of the country and the entire society. Private – public partnerships (with strings attached), corruption of public sector, science, and politicians… Somebody sponsored it, somebody benefited from it, … but it was not us, The People. I am not suggesting that this is Trump’s and Musk’s goal but it certainly is a possibility. We’ve better keep our eyes on them. The trickle-down effect may be heading our way, soon. Again.
