Comment: For me, it is not about Carney. It is about a political party that was in power for nine years, during which our cost of living skyrocketed, while our economy and our standard of living plammeted. Most of its power figures were associated with (read: “penetrated” by) the World Economic Forum and its agendas that served the wealthiest investors who decided to move the global economy centre, our jobs, and our technologies to cheaper countries (eg., to China) in order to cut their costs and max up their profits. At our expense. There were other decisions and policies which indicated that this was done deliberately and in a globally coordinated way, for example the “pandemic” and its “measures” that excluded science and came close to helping the goal of depopulation. This is my opinion and I wish that I am wrong.
I am also looking at the honesty and moral integrity of the government as well as at the voting strategy. I expected the Liberals and the Conservatives to take an honest position on the war in Ukraine and on the crime of genocide in Palestine. This did not happen. Why? The only answer I can come up with is the possibility that they are controlled by a specific group of financial and political interests that hopes to profit from wars, (which is illegal). Human rights is another important area of concern. Liberals failed this test with vaccination mandates as well as with the handling of peaceful protests in Ottawa and other places.
Some people say that Canadians and Europeans are witnessing a communist revolution that is influenced by China. I cannot prove it but it is a strong possibility. I see this taking place in Europe.
This is how I know who not to vote for. I will vote for a party that promises to improve our standard of living, especially the prices of essentials, the cost of food and housing (rent included). Their increases were not fully justified by costs. In a large part, they reflected the greed of our domestic importers, suppliers, retailers, and service providers. They were possible because our government gave up on enforcing government regulations, existing antitrust laws, and consumer protection laws. These prices not only need to be frozen. They need to be reversed. Also, tax evasion and tax avoidance loopholes have to be closed. Corporations need to pay fair taxes in order to rebuild our education and health care systems. I will vote for a party that promotes peace and does not get involved in not our wars. This is how it used to work, when Canada was the best place to live in.
About platforms – a topic hotly debated on mainstream media lately. Of course I want to know what their platforms are. We used to call them “programs” and this term was reflecting their true nature better. Platforms are not only promises. When I hear, “We will give you this and that” (they never tell you what they are going to take away from you, do they?), I want to know how they are going to pay for it, where will the money come from. Famously, Jean Chretien, during his first PM campaign in 1993, promised to scrap the GST. After the election, this debate went, “Well, at that time, we did not know what was in the books. Now, while we are in office, we can access this data and we see that we cannot afford to implement this promise.” My question was, “If you did not know the data, what did you base your promise on?” — This is exactly what a real platform should tell us and this is why a well constructed program is important. Otherwise, we have empty promises (or lies), they tell us what we want to hear and then they forget about it.
Now, on strategy. This is a contest between Liberals and Conservatives. Conservatives have the largest chance to defeat the Liberals but I have my own reasons why I hesitate to support them, especially when Trump is in the White House. Voting for Greens or PPC will not weaken the Liberals much. Voting NDP may give the New Democrats enough seats in Parliament to influence the policies of the future government, whichever party wins the election. I am not trying to promote any configuration. I know what I will do. You do what is right for you and your family. So long!
P.S.: I am just looking at the pool results presented by CTV and CBC. To be honest, I don’t trust them. Many sheep voters just follow the bigger crowd. It is easier than thinking. This is why polls are often used as ads, especially when they are presented by media outlets that have been advertising the Liberal party and Mark Carney throughout this entire campaign.
