Comments: I don’t criticize people for who they are (discrimination) but I do criticize people for what they do to others (justice). There is a big difference between discrimination of Jews based on race, ethnicity or religion and a legitimate criticism of criminal policies and actions of the state of Israel, Mossad, and the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), including violations of international law and over 100 UN resolutions pertaining to the occupation and annexation of Palestinian Territories. Anyone who does not understand this difference should see a shrink a.s.a.p. Netanyahu’s fear tactics are totally missing the point. There are many Jews, including Israeli citizens, who oppose current policies of their government. On the other hand, the fact that Israeli voters keep re-electing this criminal government, may be seen as justification for such generalizations. Go figure!
The term ‘antisemitism’ has no meaning in reference to the Middle East Conflict. According to Wikipedia, “Semitic people or Semites is an obsolete term for an ethnic, cultural or racial group associated with people of the Middle East, including Arabs, Jews, Akkadians, and Phoenicians.” /…/ “Semitic describes a group of languages — including Hebrew and Arabic — as well as the people who traditionally speak them. Semitic is rooted in the Biblical name Shem, the son of Noah, who is traditionally thought of as the direct ancestor of the Jews and Arabs.” Therefore, the term “Semitic” applies to both the Jews and Palestinians. You cannot be ‘antisemitic’ if you support the Palestinians.
On Israel’s right to “self-defense”: How can the occupier invoke “self-defense”, if the occupation itself is an aggression? Palestinians are, in fact, defending themselves, just like the Jews, who took part in Warsaw Ghetto uprising during WW2, were defending themselves. Nazis called them “banditen”. Today, some call the Palestinian freedom fighters “terrorists”. People ask, “Are Palestinians targeting Israeli civilians?” They forget to ask, “Is Israel targeting Palestinian civilians?” And who started this tit-for-tat? This conflict did not start on October 7, 2023. It started decades ago and has a long history.
