Bill C-2 criminalizes cash payments of $10,000 or more. Today, it’s $10,000. Tomorrow, it could be $5,000 or $1,000, then $0. 

Bill C-2 is part of a trend. Quebec’s Bill 54 now empowers police officers to assume that people carrying $2,000 or more in cash are connected to illegal activities and to seize the cash.

Cash is under attack in Canada.

When cash is criminalized, governments, banks, and law enforcement can track and interfere with legitimate purchases and donations. 

Cash protects Canadians’ privacy, autonomy, and freedom of expression. Cash means freedom from surveillance: by government, by banks, by credit card companies, and by other businesses. 

We, the undersigned, call upon the Prime Minister of Canada to strike the criminalization of cash payments from Bill C-2.

Comment: I’ve stopped watching TV news channels years ago but yestarday I checked them out to see what they wanted us to belive about the Israel – Iran war. One after another, some major politicians, hosts and celebs lamented how Israel is a victim of Iran’s aggression. Victimhood seems to be a specialty of these people. And then, a huge sign filled the screen: “Israel is being attacked!”. How stupid do they think we are? It was Israel that attacked Iran, unprovoked and in violation of international law, based on a bunch of lies about an alleged Iranian military nuclear program. Even if it was a true allegation, Iran has a right to a peaceful nuclear program and there is no evidence that it is developing nuclear weapons. Unlike Israel, that already has nuclear weapons, Iran is a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its nuclear programs are supervised by this organization under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). We are getting 180 degrees lies. To completely reverse the true shows how corrupted our news organizations are. What a shame! This is not a new conflict. The truth has been known for several decades. – (My opinion.)

Comment: One question needs to be asked. I am 75 and I have been following the Middle East conflict from the get go. From WWI and the Balfour Declaration, then the UNGA Resolution 181, then the war of 1967 and the UNSC Resolution 242, then over 100 UN Resolutions pertaining to the Israeli Occupation of the Palestinian Occupied Territories, the right of Palestinians to self-determination, right of the refugees to return, etc., then the international law as it relates to the illegal Israeli settlements (The IV Geneva Convention Art 49: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies”), then the invasion of Lebanon in August of 2006, then the original Goldstone Report following the 2008/2009 invasion of Gaza, … and the list goes on…

Comment: Opening stages of the war are now done. As it becomes clear that Israel would not be able to destroy all these stationary and moving targets without western (possibly American) sattelite survaillance as well as on-the-sea forces and jamming capabilities, it is interesting what Russia and China will do now. The stakes are rising and we will finally learn whether this is a real war, or an internationally performed and coordinated script. It also becomes obvious why we have the war in Ukraine, threat of war against Russia in Europe, tension around South China Sea, and sparks between India and Pakistan. This must have taken a lot of time and effort to prepare and implement but the purpose of locking all interested parties and potential enemies in their own local conflicts is now making more sense.
