Comment: It will not work. When all the rich people get faster service in private clinics, the public system will recover its speed and capacity. At that point, the rich will say, “Why am I paying a lot of money across the street, when I can get the same service through the public facilities and doctors?” Then, the private clinics will lose a lot of business, until the next wave of “escape” to private service. No business can operate like that for a long time. There will be pressure (and bribes for political parties) to close the public system completely. Our corrupted politicians will swollow it, hook and sinker. This is an intermediate step in a transition to privatization of the entire health care in Canada.
