SLIPPERY SLOPE TO OBLIVION: Mearsheimer DIRE WARNING On Russia/Ukraine

Comment: I will repeat this one more time: The use of NATO’s Article 5 is not possible. All Russia needs to do is to prove that some of the “Ukrainian” attacks on Russia’s territory came from the territory of a NATO country and/or were carried out with the use of rockets or drones manufactured in and delivered by a NATO country, or were supported by NATO satellite surveillance, targeting systems, and intel. If Russia is attacked by a NATO country first, then this country is the aggressor and Russia has the right to defend itself – hence Article 5 does not apply. Russia’s military operation in Ukraine cannot be used to invoke Article 5 either because Ukraine is not a NATO country. All Russia needs to do is to make this officially clear before retaliating against its NATO adversaries. It is obvious, by now, that this is not a Russia vs. Ukraine war. It is a war between Russia and NATO.
