Comment: I wonder how much of this response is directed against Trump and his nationalistic politics, instead of supporting our economy and our national best interests. This entire “trade war”, in addition to the war with Iran, increasingly looks like a perfectly executed plan to (1) crush western economies and (2) remove Trump and the nationalists from power in the US – both desired goals of the globalist agenda that happens to be aligned with political and economic interests of China. The EU and Australian leaders fall into this category and so is Mark Carney as a former banker and deeply connected to European investors WEF contributor. The war between Trump and the Democrats reflects a wider conflict between nationalists and globalists. Canadians should be careful swallowing hook, line, and sinker the idea of a defensive war against the US, while losing their economic status and national values in the process. I suspect that this is where we are being led. My opinion.
