
I have just ordered a simple nylon and polyester jacket from Eddie Bauer. It is coming from the US to Canada, where I live. The short (blue) distance between the source and destination is 490 km. UPS is taking it from Easton, PA, through Middletown, PA, then all the way to Vernon, CA, and finally all the way back to Toronto, ON – 7,330 km.
On a promotional sale, my purchase cost was $197.55 CAD:
The package is already en route 4 days and is scheduled to be delivered in another 7 days, 11 days altogether. Waste of time, waste of fuel, waste of money:
What sense does it make, unless this is a deliberate action taken by the carrier (on whose orders?) to crush the US economy?
