It appears that Russian original plan to surround Eastern Ukraine and divide the country along the Dnieper River has been halted. Positions in Dniepro and Zaporizhzhia were lost. In the South, the Russian army is advancing from Crimea eastward, towards the city of Mariupol and the Donetsk – Luhansk Region and westward, towards Nikolaiv and Odessa, most likely trying to go all the way towards the border with Moldova and Romania. If successful, this will cut Ukraine off of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. It will also open a land connection between Crimea and Russia, through Donetsk-Luhansk territory.
The second major front originating from Belarus in the North and from Russia in the North-East, advances towards the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv. Positions in the East, near the cities of Kharkiv and Kup’yansk are strategic locations along major highways and supply routes from Russia. The Donetsk-Luhansk enclave did not expand much since the war began, although efforts were visible to press westward in order to complete the land corridor connecting Russia with Crimea.
Talks are under way between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in or near the town of Naroulia (Belarus), about 35 km from the border with Ukraine. French news agency reports that Ukraine requested an immediate accession to NATO. We are also hearing that Finland and Sweden are considering joining NATO. On the other side of the divide, president Putin has ordered Russian nuclear forces on high alert. Situation is becoming more dangerous. However, reports from both sides are full of psych-ops (normal part of every war), therefore it is difficult to find a reliable source of information that one could trust.

Justin has sent your money and lethal military equipment to Ukraine, while:
A. It was known that Russians would invade soon;
B. It was known that NATO would not send troops to Ukraine to fight against the Russians;
C. It was known (or should have been known) that the Ukrainian army would be defeated or would surrender to the Russians;
D. It was known that the Russians would demilitarize Ukraine, disarm the Ukrainian army and paramilitary forces, and destroy or confiscate their weapons;
E. It was known that, after Russia’s victory in Ukraine, it would be impossible to trace the allegedly donated money and equipment.
Since the prime minister was so curious about our bank accounts that he engaged state apparatus and banks to investigate and freeze them, we now expect and demand that the same curiosity be applied and the same institutions be ordered to investigate where did this money and military equipment, allegedly donated to Ukraine, go? The prime minister, his cabinet and his generals were fully aware of the facts listed above. Therefore, their bank accounts and financial dealings should be frozen and investigated, first. The potential for a serious crime is there.

I do not support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but the problem in Ukraine had been created by the US and its allies in and after 2014. Applying sanctions and saying that Ukraine is on its own, that we are not committing our troops to defend it is not going to stop the invasion. Is this a script, a deal between the US and Russia? Is Ukraine the price Putin demanded in exchange for remaining neutral in the coming US war against China?
Russia’s concerns about the security of its borders in the face of NATO’s creeping eastward expansion were identical to the US concerns about Russian military installations in Cuba during the Cuban Crisis of 1962. They were ignored, although they could have been resolved by creating a neutral Ukraine as a buffer zone between the EU and Russia. Apparently, this was not the goal of the US.
Finally, just what difference is there between the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the based on a pack of lies 2003 US invasion and destruction of Iraq? It’s time for the politicians to stop lying and manipulating public opinion. We are not stupid.

According to Russian source:
It looks like, at this stage, Russians are trying to cut out and secure Eastern Ukraine (East of the Dnieper River) with additional presence of Russian forces in the area of Kiev, Nikolaev and Odessa. It may, however, be a deception map, I don’t have any means to verify this information independently.

South Front, a website most likely associated with Russia’s intelligence agencies, reported this morning:
Early on February 24, President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia has officially launched a special operation to “enforce peace” in Ukraine.

Free pastor Pawlowski and stop your police from exercising their mafia-style vendetta for being called “Nazis” and “Gestapo”, when they barged into a private property without a valid warrant. Like KGB, I would add. Until then, don’t talk about the rights of Canadians and Albertans being violated.
It’s believed that the prime minister revoked the act before the Senate voiced its disapproval.

“The city’s COVID dashboard wrongly makes it appear that more than one-third of Ontario’s active cases are in Hamilton.
The number of active infections was inaccurately listed as 6,776 on the city’s website Wednesday — nearly 10 times higher than the 702 reported for Hamilton by the province.” ……
Comment: Good article but one correction. The author writes, “While there is no way to precisely know how many active cases there are in the community because the general population hasn’t had access to PCR testing since Dec. 31.” This seems to be an inaccurate statement. PCR tests have been proven unreliable and responsible for many false positive results. They should never be used for identification and diagnosis of respiratory viruses. Here is Kary Mullis, the inventor of PCR technology and Nobel Prize winner:
“Trudeau made his announcement while Senate was still in session to debate the use of the Act after the House of Commons voted on Monday to keep it. Had the vote been rejected against Trudeau’s demands, the Emergencies Act would have been immediately ended.”

Comment: If this happened, Trudeau would look like a looser. Once again, he reacted like a child and backed off before being defeated. I think, this time, Trudeau has shot himself in a foot. He is finished as a politician and Liberals would be well advised to take this under consideration.
What now? If the Emergencies Act is not confirmed and approved by the Senate, its use to disperse Freedom Convoy protests and peaceful demonstrators, or to cancel bank accounts and contributions in support of the truckers was illegal. Who is going to be accountable for that? Who will be punished for violent police actions and for overreach of power and abuse of authority without a legal and binding framework to do so? The Emergencies Act has never been confirmed and approved by the Senate, which was a requirement for its legal legitimacy.

Listening to the Debate on Motion to Confirm Declaration of Emergency in the House of Commons, two days ago, I could not believe the brazen lies and unblushing hypocrisy used by the Liberal and NDP politicians who supported the Declaration. I was shocked because at that point (on February 21) all border crossing blockades have already been cleared and the Ottawa Freedom Convoy peaceful protest was dispersed. The situation was under control and was achieved by the provinces prior to the “confirmation”, so, it seems, there was no need for federal martial law. Another reason why this situation was so unusual was the deliberate provocative and confrontational style of the government which antagonized the protesters instead of defusing the conflict politically. It looked as if the government needed to fuel the conflict and use force in order to justify the Emergencies Act.
During the vote on the Motion to Confirm the Declaration of Emergency, all MPs voted in party blocks: all Liberal and NDP members voted “Yea”, all Conservative and Block Quebecois members voted “Nay”. Seeing hundreds and thousands of Canadians supporting the Freedom Convoy throughout Canada, it is hard to believe that a majority of voters in every riding supported the party positions. It was obvious to me that the real reason for such a concerted effort to pass the Emergencies Act must have been different than what we were officially told. Could it be the situation in Ukraine and the game played by Russia?
